When we profess our Faith at Mass, we say we believe in the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. Our Church is apostolic. It's founded upon the apostles who were eyewitnesses of Jesus, of his life, of his miracles, of his death and resurrection. Our faith is not founded on abstract ideas. It's founded upon concrete, historical events that have eyewitnesses to them - and those eyewitnesses are the apostles. They are the ones who saw, and witnessed to, and later proclaimed and preached and taught about those very historical events upon which our faith is founded. And that's an awesome thing. - Fr. Nick
